EcoNorth successfully completed a large-scale fish salvage across more than 50 kilometres of remote creek systems in support of a major gold mine development. The project involved the safe capture and relocation of over 25,000 fish, delivered in challenging field conditions with a strong focus on environmental protection and animal welfare. All works were completed safely, in full regulatory compliance, and met the project’s schedule and budget requirements, demonstrating EcoNorth’s capability to deliver complex environmental management programs at scale.

EcoNorth brings a well‑rounded, hands‑on approach to fisheries offsetting by combining experienced oversight with direct, on‑the‑ground construction capability. EcoNorth’s role extends beyond advisory oversight: we have practical experience actively completing fisheries offsetting and habitat protection works, including in‑stream construction activities as seen with the recent construction of 6,000m2 of new fish habitat on a mine development project.

EcoNorth provided experienced labour and certified chainsaw personnel to support the completion of remote trail development and access construction. Crews focused on removing deadfall, hazardous trees, and accumulated debris from work areas to create safe, efficient access and maintain clear work zones. This proactive clearing supports cost‑effective fish salvage and monitoring activities by minimizing delays and equipment constraints while ensuring safe working conditions.
